Re: Inflation
I suppose they have to reach for something with Biden doing such a cracking job. Flailing around and whining about inflation on the way out of a pandemic. If it’s still about this time next year then maybe take it seriously - as it is you’ve only got to think how the world was looking last May.

Where was the debt hysteria with Trumpy’s unfounded kickback to the rich and corporations - where’s the 4%+ growth is was going to fire?

Re: Inflation
Thing is Crusty, I’m not really making a big point here by exposing you wankers’ double standard on debt creation and demand-side inflationary pressure. You couldn’t handle it when it was discussed in depth when Trump was fucking up the economy and it’s making you come up on a rash even more now.

Go on, tuck in you fat mess.

Gopnik

I'm not sure why you bothered to type that. You've managed to reply to me without addressing anything that I wrote. What's the point?

Hammer and Pickle 11:31 Thu Jun 17
Re: Inflation
You weren't in the least concerned about sound money and public debt when Trump was around fucking up trade with tariffs on good the US could not produce and handing out tax cuts to the super rich, was you Sergei.

You're so transparently full of shit it's unreal.

That’s right - bullshit stereotypes and twatter feeds.

What a way of framing a world view.

Re: Inflation
Branded, there is definitely a supply driven blip in inflation, but I think there's a deeper structural driver as well. Printing more and more money won't end well.

Who is going to buy the bonds? With Russia divesting itself of dollars and the CCP threatening to start doing the same, there are not enough sovereign wealth funds or friendly Arab states left to soak up the debt.

You can not raise enough money from US taxpayers to cover this debt, even if you taxed 99% of all income for ten years.

They can't put up interest rates to reduce inflation because the whole economy in the US and other western states is completely predicated on low interest rates - the debt would just get even higher.

So, they are left with inflation or a devaluation of the dollar. They can't devaluate the dollar without causing a global economic seismic shock and possible war or certainly some kinetic events.

Inflation is the most evil of all taxes as it disproportionately hits the lowest earners whilst inflating the values of assets for the very riich.

You carry on trying to work out what is happening to your sorry arse on the basis of what people say on social media, HDC.

It’ll get you exactly where you are now.

Even the woke wally's know that Biden is going to financially fuck the US up, but they're not bothered, as he Tweets very well. Nothing is more important than saying the right things on Twitter.

SUPPLY SIDE SQUEEZE

Its not rocket science.

Once the squeeze is through prices will stabilise.

Some prices have already dropped back.

Re: Inflation
China is NOT "throttling" access to shipping containers - it simply lacks the capacity to allow ships to dock and gain access to them.

This is simply a result in the blip in the supply chain caused by Covid.

Even when enough containers make their way through Chinese ports, issues giving the same symptoms will appear elsewhere in the world as the world's shipping logistics is running with very little wriggle room to expand anywhere to take in the additional demand.

Hammer and Pickle 10:33 Thu Jun 17
Re: Inflation
I agree Biden is making a mistake if he rolls out the trillion dollar support programme without opening up the market to capital goods and traded goods. This implies rolling back Trump's tariffis and making sure China stops throttling access to shipping containers.

The President is going to face howling outrage from the usual quarters whatever he does - he might as well get the basics on inflation right, because that is the real national interest.

Re: Inflation
If inflation is still there at the start of 22 then maybe get concerned - but right now it[s just the emergence from… what was it that happened in the last 18 months.

Think about the stuff that’s spiking - and why There’s shortages - and why rental cars would only be listed by a thick cunt like the gimp.

Business has been non-existent for the last 18 months and suddenly gone crazy as the world wants to travel again. Hertz even went under and the rest scaled back operations - there’s also a chip shortage so tough to buy new stock.

Capitol Man 5:55 Thu Jun 17
Re: Inflation
Fuck off nyc you utter prick. You don’t get to support trump and make any of those criticisms - none of them - it just marks you out as a cunt.

If you had any sort of core values here then you may have a leg to stand on - but as is you’re just another one who seems to like getting on his knees. Grow a fucking spine.

"Joe Biden has a historic opportunity to be a great president,"

Joe Biden is a barely legible president who has been sent out to co-opt the the hard left mantra half truths to get the gullible useful idiots that habitually vote Democrat back on side. An absolute train wreck whose fuckwit policies of tax and spend will give us nothing but inflation and unemployment. Its already starting.
